In the second phase of the regional InQuire Research Migration Laboratory program, the eleventh online session was held for participants from the countries of the Western Balkans and Türkiye. The session was held on April 18, 2024, in online mode. The implementation of the program is supported by the regional WB-MIGNET network.
The eleventh session was marked by the presentation of the project “TheGAME – Counter-mapping informal refugee mobilities along the Balkan Route“. The project is financed by the European Union through the European Research Council Advance Grant 2021 (Project 101054428). The host institution of this project is the University of Bologna, Department of History and Culture. This project aims to understand how informal migration corridors work.
The project was presented by the Principal investigator, Prof. Claudio Minca, and research fellow Dr. Yolanda Weima. The methodological approach used within the project, the researcher’s position, and obstacles in data collection and access to formal as opposed to informal migration camps were discussed with the participants of the program.
