Our director Nermin Oruč participated in an event within the Migration and Diaspora (PMD) program on the topic “Monitoring, encouraging and supporting the return and circular migration” organized in an online format on March 10, 2021. This multi-actor dialogue is organized within the global Migration and Diaspora Program, which is implemented in Serbia within the German-Serbian development cooperation. The program is supported by the German Organization for International Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and in Serbia, it is implemented by the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs and the National Employment Service in close cooperation with the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration and other relevant actors.
Nermin took part in a session entitled “Circular Migration Programs and Effects on Social and Economic Reality.” The specific goal of this event was to jointly understand the available data on external migration and their use in planning and implementing policies and to jointly identify relevant models of programs and forms of circular migration that can contribute to the improvement of socio-economic conditions. The second multi-actor dialogue is a continuation of the first dialogue held in September 2020, which was dedicated to monitoring and improving the quality of data on external migration with a focus on quantitative and aggregate monitoring of migration flows. PMD is part of a broader corpus of activities related to the development of the Action Plan for the implementation of the Economic Migration Strategy of the Republic of Serbia for the period 2021-2027.
