The regional InQuire Migration Research Laboratory Program continues with the fifth session, which was held online on February 22, 2024. Sessions are held as part of the program with participants from the countries of the Western Balkans and Türkiye, with the support of the regional WB-MIGNET network.
During the fifth session, the participants had the opportunity to hear more about the methods of anticipating future migration trends, as well as the factors and drivers of migration that can affect the accuracy of the results of the applied methods. On the examples of research carried out in Türkiye to foresight migration trends, and research in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the topic of migration drivers, the participants had the opportunity to discuss the concrete solutions applied in these research project. The session was led by Dr. Nermin Oruč, CREDI Director of Research and coordinator of the WB-MIGNET network.
Through the discussion, the cohort of program participants expressed the need for similar research projects to be carried out in other countries of the Western Balkans, and within the program they will work on the development of research project proposals that can address various research questions.
