Our director Nermin Oruc participated at digital conference organized by Aspen Institute, Germany on 10-11 September 2020. The topic of the conference was “Emigration from the Western Balkans – Addressing the Challenge“ and Nermin presented his paper on remittances and diaspora for development in the Western Balkans. The conference offered a platform for a selected group of high-level decision-makers from the Western Balkans, Germany, the EU as well as international organizations and researchers to identify and discuss the key challenges the Western Balkan countries and their partners are facing due to emigration. The conference was organized in the framework of Aspen’s Regional Dialog on the Western Balkans, which is kindly supported by the German Federal Foreign Office.
