In early 2015, think tanks from 7 WB countries, which work for many years in the field of migration, created the Western Balkans Migration Network (WB-MIGNET), a new community of practice in the field of migration focused regionally on the Western Balkans. The first activity of the WB-MIGNET is development of the Observatory for the WB, an online platform for policy makers, researchers and donors interested in the migration issues in WB countries. The Observatory aims to provide a number of useful resources, including data, information and analyses for the migration processes of the WB countries, and to promote new policy approaches that will help to maximize the potential benefits of migration, whilst minimizing its negative consequences.
